Accurate Formula (incl. fillet)
A = 2 × B × tf + (H − 2·tf) × tw + (4 − π) × r²
Unit weight = A × ρ | ρ = 7850 kg/m³ (0.2836 lb/in³)
The (4−π)×r² fillet term is omitted by most online calculators, causing 2–5% error.

⚠ Why do other calculators give wrong results?
1. Fillet radius ignored — the (4−π)r² correction can account for 2–5% of the area.
2. Mixed standards — GB, EN, AISC and JIS dimensions differ; mixing them causes errors.
3. Density variation — some use 7800, others 7860 kg/m³ instead of the standard 7850.
4. US W-shapes have sloped flanges — a simple rectangle formula does not apply exactly.
5. Theoretical weight is for reference only. Actual delivery weight may vary ±3–5% per mill tolerance.
